Please note: It is the student's responsibility to ensure that final marks are given to the WVSS counsellor. For grade 12 students, it is the students' responsibility to make sure that mid-term marks and final marks are being reported to the Ministry and are being sent to Post-Secondary Institutions.
Students that are interested in taking a course via distributed learning (DL) can register with any school district in British Columbia that offers DL courses. In order to register you will need to know your Personal Education Number (PEN#).

- who is likely to succeed with distance learning
- whether you have some of the characteristics to be a successful online student
- the expectations of the parent or guardian as facilitator in their child's education

- self-motivated
- independent learners
- computer literate
- effective time managers who know how to organize their time and tasks
- have effective written communication skills (much of the communication with a teacher will be via email)
- personally committed to this type of learning environment
- learners who have the support of a responsible adult to work with them and supervise their progress
